The Sugar S11 Blockchain creation edition is an Android smartphone manufactured by a Chinese company called Sugar. The Android device was made specially to be a hardware wallet to mine the Ethereum fork called Ethereum Fog.


According specs shown on Tenna, the device would spec a Snapdragon 652 chip clocked at 1.8 GHZ, 4GB RAM, 128GB storage capacity, a 6.99-inch 1080 display and a 3060mAh battery size. The device will also have dual cameras at the back and front.

The price tag for the device is $620 (3999 Yuan). However, launch date and other information regarding the device remains sketchy as at the time of this writing.

US authorities on Tuesday charged a New York resident with crimes including kidnapping and stealing $1.8 million worth of Ethereum from his friend's cryptocurrency wallet at gunpoint on 4th November 2017.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, Louis Meza, 35, who is in police custody, had a meeting with a friend in his apartment after which he called a car service to pick up the friend when the meeting was over.


The friend to Meza who is yet to be identified thought that the minivan would take him home but instead, the driver pulled out a gun and demanded the 24-word secret passphrase to his Ethereum wallet. 

Official statement issued by the DA office said the driver also demanded for the house key, mobile phone and wallet. However, a day after the kidnapping took place, a sum of $1.8 million appeared in Meza's account

"video surveillance later obtained from the victims' apartment building showed Meza using the set of keys stolen from the victim to enter the victim's apartment and then leave the apartment holding a box believed to contain the victim's digital wallet. Additionally records reveal that soon after obtaining the victim's digital wallet, the defendant then transferred approximately $1.6 million in Ether to his own personal account," part of the statement read.

The victim eventually escaped the scene while the driver was busy searching his house, he, however, called 911. Meza has been charged although he still denies any involvement in the incident.

Crypto Firm Says It Can Not Repay Funds After Ceo Died With Password To Clients $190M



A Canadian crypto currency exchange company has announced that it can not refund clients their money after its founder died with the password used to access the funds.

According to Sky News, founder of QuadrigaCX, Gerald Cotton, 30, died due to complications with crohn's disease' while traveling to India open an orphanage in December 2018.

His wife, Jennifer Robertson filed for credit protection, while noting in a sworn affidavit that Mr Cotton held the "sole responsibility for handling the funds and coin" and no other members of the team had access to the stored funds

She said that about $190 million in both cryptocurrency and normal money is in "cold storage" with the access key held by the deceased.


Though Ms Robertson has Mr. Cotton's laptop, she doesn't know the password to access it, and even a security expert has been unable to bypass the device encryption.

Ms Robertson also said in the affidavit that she and her colleagues have had threats made against them from the online cryptocurrency communities, with most coming from users on Reddit.

In a statement posted on its website on Jan 31, QuadrigaCX told its customers that it had applied for creditor protection in the Nova Scotia Supreme Court to allow them "address the significant financial issues that have affected" their ability to serve their customers.

"For the past weeks, we have worked extensively to address our liquidity issues, which include attempting to locate and secure our very significant cryptocurrency reserves held in cold wallets, and that are required to satisfy customer cryptocurrency balances on deposit, as well sourcing a financial institution to accept the bank drafts that are to be transferred to us," the said. "unfortunately, these efforts have not been successful."

Some QuadrigaCX customer have taken to social media to voice out their complain over their inability to access their crypto funds.
