Samsung electronics has finally unveiled the Galaxy Note 9 device! And yes, the device confirmed a number of leaked specs that have been building up towards its launch.


As expected, the device isn't that much different in terms of design from the Galaxy Note 8. In terms of specs, theres a big difference.

The Galaxy Note 9 spots a  6.4-inch Quad HD+ Superl AMOLED 2960 x 1440 pixel resolution display.

The base model of the Galaxy Note 9 will come with a 128GB of storage coupled with 6GB of RAM size, while another model will come with 512GB storage and RAM of 8GB. Both device have support for external MicroSD expansion which supports up to 512GB. The Galaxy Note 9 user of the 512GBb variant will have up to 1TB of storage when coupled with a 512GB MicroSD card.


One major improvement in this years Galaxy Note device is the battery size. Samsung gave the Galaxy Note 9 a massive 4ooomAh battery to enable users play games, watch videos, video calls, browse, do other stuff and still have battery juice left for other use.

As you all know, bigger battery size = longer usage of the device. Because of this, Samsung developed a Water Carbon Cooling system to cool the device temperature during heavy gaming. Samsung also made an on-device Al-based performance adjusting algorithm to balance powerful performance with stability.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 device will be powered by the Exynos 9810 in most markets, while select markets will get the Snapdragon 845 variant.


The Galaxy Note 9 device has a 12-megapixel f1.5/f2.4 + 12-megapixel f2.4 dual camera system with 2X optical zoom at the back of the device. At the front of the device is an 8-megapixel f/1.7 front camera.

Packed with Android Oreo 8.1 on the device, the Galaxy Note 9 device will support fast wireless charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, Samsung Pay, Samsung Health, iris and finger print scanning as well as facial recognition capabilities. The Note 9 device comes with AKG-tuned stereo speakers to deliver Dolby Atmos immersive audio to the user.


Another feature that has waiting for is the new S Pen with Bluetooth capability. The stylus have Bluetooth Low-Energy support and perform lot of task such as take selfies, group photos, playing and pausing video, acts as a  remote control for slide presentations, launching of apps and more.

The S Pen is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. It takes the S Pen just 40 seconds to fully charge -- and that charge can last up to 30 minutes or 200 clicks. The S Pen charges automatically when inserted back into the Note 9 device. Samsung said it will enable developers to integrate the S Pen's BLE functionalities into third party apps sometime later this year.


The Galaxy Note 9 won't need a dock to give users a PC-like experience when plugged to an external monitor via Samsung DeX. Users can use DeX with the Note 9 using HDMI adapters to connect to the monitor. The Note 9 disp board too.

Pre-orders for the Note 9 is already on as shipping will start on the 24th of August, 2018. The 6GB/128GB Galaxy Note 9 model is expected to be sold for £899 while the 8GB/512GB version is expected to be sold for £1,099.

However, it is worth you know that the phone used in this test is the Galaxy Note 9 that runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset (trimmed down version) and not the bigger one which is powered by Exynos 9810.

The Galaxy Note 9 benchmark score for Multicore in GeekBench 4 was 8,876, while the iPhone X still stood at an impressive 10,357 points, and the OnePlus 6 (8GB RAM) got a score of 9.088.

In 3DMark Slingshot Extreme 3.1, the Galaxy Note 9 got a score of 4,639, falling behind the iPhone X which scored 4,994. OnePlus, however, won this round with a score of 5,124 points.

"Slingshot Extreme is the most demanding graphics test in 3DMark's mobile arsenal, and the Note 9 fared pretty well, but it's outperformed by both the iPhone X and OnePlus 6.

"The Galaxy Note 9 scored 4,639, which is slightly better than the Galaxy S9+ (4,634) and ahead of the LG G7 (4,201). However, the OnePlus 6 with *GB of RAM smoke the Note 9 with a score of 5,124 and the iPhone X (4,994) also fared better."

The Galaxy Note 9 got an impressive score in display testing. "The device AMOLED panel registered an impressive 224 percent of the sRGB color gamut, which is far better than the iPhone X's 128.6 percent." The Galaxy Note 9 does emits 604 nits brightness which is brighter than the 574 nits on the iPhone X.

We know that benchmark results don't always reflect real-life performance, however, further test results will prove if the Galaxy Note 9 hasn't toppled the iPhone X or not.

Us Woman Says Her Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Exploded, Sues Samsung For Damages


In a case that could be first report of a Samsung Note 9 device catching fire, a US woman has a filed a lawsuit against Samsung claiming that her Galaxy Note 9 device combusted while in her purse.


According to court papers, Diane Chung a real estate agent, was in an elevator just after midnight on Sept. 3 when her merk new phone became extremely hot.

Chung stopped using the phone and then put it in the bag. But then, she "heard a whistling and screeching sound, and she noticed a thick smoke" coming out of her purse.

The suit says Chung put the bag on the elevator floor and tried to empty it, but instead got her fingers burned as she grabbed the Galaxy Note 9 device.

In the midst of the confusion, Chung dropped the phone started smashing elevator buttons while the thick smoke made it hard for her to see.

When Chung reached the lobby, she kicked the device out of the elevator but still the device refused to stop burning until a nearby person grabbed the device with a cloth and then dropped it into a bucket of  water.

Chung claimed in the Queens Supreme Court lawsuit that the fire destroyed everything in her bag and left her unable to contact clients. Chung described the experience as traumatic, and now wants a restraining order barring the sales of any Galaxy Note 9 device, saying that Samsung should have known that the device was "defective".


Samsung's line of Galaxy Note 7 device was a complete disaster. The Galaxy Note 7 device kept exploding due to battery related issues. So bad was the issues that Samsung had to recall the sold units and as a result lossing billion.

However, Samsung assured users that the $1000 priced Galaxy Note 9 won't give users any battery related issue.

'The battery in the Galaxy Note 9 is safer than ever. Users do not have to worry about the batteries anymore," Samsung CEO Koh Dong-jin said.

In addition to the above, a Samsung executive, Kate Beaumont, director of product planning explained that the company now had a multi-step "battery safety check" in place which would ensure that the Galaxy Note 9 won't catch fire.

So far, Samsung claims they haven't received any report involving any exploding Galaxy Note 9 device.

"We have not received any reports of similar incidents involving a Galaxy Niote 9 device and we are investigating the matter," a Samsung spokesman said.

Huawei P20 Pro Beats The Iphone Xs Max And Others In Camera Shoot-Out


With the launch of Apple's set of iPhones, its been reviews, reviews and comparisons between top Android device and the Apple products.

The latest review comparing the iPhone XS Max camera with a host of other Android flagship devices seems to surface.



According to a test carried out by smartphone camera benchmark website DxOMark, the iPhone XS Max came second to Huawei's P20 Pro during an intensive camera test that touched various aspects such as texture, noise, zoom, flash, bokeh, and many other areas..

 The test carried out involved top premium devices such as; the Google Pixel 2, Xiaomi Mi8, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Plus, Apple iPhone X, HTC U12+, Huawei P20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Apple's iPhone XS Max.

Apple's last year iPhone X came last on the list with a score of 97, while Google Pixel 2 came second to the last with a score of 98.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Xiaomi Mi 8 got the 5th position with a score of 99 each, while the Huawei P20 came 4th with a score of 102. Next on the list to get the 3rd position were Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and HTC U12+ who both got a score of 103.


Apple's biggest flagship of 2018, the first ever iPhone to spec a large display of 6.5-inch Super AMOLED came second to Huawei with a score of 105 while the Huawei P20 Pro got a whopping 109 in score. Making Huawei's triple rear camera as the best camera smart phone in the world when it comes to photography.

DxOMark website read:

"The Apple iPhone XS Max comes with one of the best mobile cameras we have ever tested, and in many areas offers noticeable improvements over last year's iPhone X. Both still video image quality in bright light are excellent, with a very wide dynamic range and good detail. Autofocus and image stabilization work swiftly and efficiently, and the caera is very reliable overall, consistently delivering good results."

However, the smartphone camera benchmark website, went on to add that; "In lower light, luminance noise becomes a little more intrusive than with other high-end phones, and the iPhone's zoom mode lags somewhat behind the competition (specifically, the Huawei P20 Pro) as well."
