Apple Launches The New Ipad Pro With Usb-C, Edge-To-Edge Liquid Retina Display

The first thing anyone will notice on the new iPad Pro is the absence of the home button, the thinness in size compared to the previous versions, and its edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display that curves into corners.

Apple made two models of the iPad Pro: an 11 inch version and a 12.9 inch version. The smaller iPad Pro can be said to receive an increased screen room from 10.5 to 11 inches without changing the overall body size, all thanks to the edge-to-edge display and absence of a home button on it.

Both iPad Pros are thinner than their predecessor with just 5.9 mm in thickness. The iPad Pro will be powered by Apple's A12X Bionic chip which Apple described as a 'monster'. Apple claims the new iPad Pro multicore tasking is 90% faster than its predecessor, and as well, 35% faster.


The iPad Pro comes with Face ID, USB-C charging, and a four-speaker audio system.The LTE version of the iPad Pro features an eSIM technology.

 There's is a second-generation Apple Pencil which attaches itself magnetically to the iPad Pro and charges wirelesly. There's also a Smart keyboard Folio which attaches via magnetically for those who wants to use the iPad Pro as a laptop.

"The new iPad Pro is a huge step forward for powerful, creative, mobile computing; it has an all-new thinner design, speeds through projects with the super-fast A12X Bionic chip and unlocks with a glance using Face ID in any orientation -- while you're sitting or standing, with iPad Pro on your desk or lap, with the new Smart Keyboard Folio and new Apple Pencil," Apple's Phillip Schiller said.

"There has never been a mobile device (or) anything like the new iPad Pro; it has a gorgeous edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display that curves into corners, breakthrough performance that outperforms most laptops, Face ID, support for the new Smart Keyboard Folio and new Apple Pencil, Advanced new cameras and sensors for the best AR experiences ever in any device, a high-speed USB-C connector, louder speakers, faster wireless and more, all packed into a thinner device that has all-day battery life and is 25 percent smaller in volume," Phillip added.

Apple has delved deep in gaming by making the tablets more capable in that aspect. Using NBA 2k as an example, the Cupertino company claims the new iPad Pro now rivals consoles.

While at the event, Adobe unveiled Photoshop on the tablet with augmented reality, though users will have to wait until next year to get Photoshop CC on the iPad.

Apple will be selling the 64GB 11-inch iPad for a starting price of $799, and theres also available the 1TB storage version. The 12.9-inch model sells at a starting price of $999. Ordering is open now, and the Apple tablets will be available on 7 November.

If you happen to own any of the new 2018 iPad Pro models, you don't need be told that owning that tablet was pretty expensive. However, i bet one thing you didn't know is that getting it spoilt is quite cheap.

According to a video posted by JerryRigEverything, bending the iPad Pro doesn't require much strength. A simple twist will have the thin Apple tablet snap into a V shape.



The Apple iPad Pro tablets; the 11-inch model which starts at $799 and the 12.9-inch model which has starting of $999 all suffer the same fate.

One of Apple's accessory that suffered the same fate as the iPad Pro is the Apple Pencil. The $129 second generation bends as easily as the iPad Pro models. A little twist will see the Apple Pencil easily snap into two.


The new iPad Pro bendability hasn't gone unnoticed as there has been series of complaints by some iPad Pro. Some complained that their new iPad Pro tablet came bent right inside the box, while others said they left their iPad Pro tablets in their back pack only to later discover that it has bend.

Ok, tablets are prone to bend when compared to smart phones or phablets. However, the case with the new iPad Pros is something else. Were they so intent on beating Samsung that they forgot that they were supposed to create a rigid tab and then ended up creating a flexible?

The only piece of advise for iPad Pro owners is to get case for their pricey gadget. Other tests such as the scratch test performed on the iPad Pro too doesn't place it in a good standing.
