The first thing anyone will notice on the new iPad Pro is the absence of the home button, the thinness in size compared to the previous versions, and its edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display that curves into corners.
Both iPad Pros are thinner than their predecessor with just 5.9 mm in thickness. The iPad Pro will be powered by Apple's A12X Bionic chip which Apple described as a 'monster'. Apple claims the new iPad Pro multicore tasking is 90% faster than its predecessor, and as well, 35% faster.
The iPad Pro comes with Face ID, USB-C charging, and a four-speaker audio system.The LTE version of the iPad Pro features an eSIM technology.
There's is a second-generation Apple Pencil which attaches itself magnetically to the iPad Pro and charges wirelesly. There's also a Smart keyboard Folio which attaches via magnetically for those who wants to use the iPad Pro as a laptop.
"The new iPad Pro is a huge step forward for powerful, creative, mobile computing; it has an all-new thinner design, speeds through projects with the super-fast A12X Bionic chip and unlocks with a glance using Face ID in any orientation -- while you're sitting or standing, with iPad Pro on your desk or lap, with the new Smart Keyboard Folio and new Apple Pencil," Apple's Phillip Schiller said.
"There has never been a mobile device (or) anything like the new iPad Pro; it has a gorgeous edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display that curves into corners, breakthrough performance that outperforms most laptops, Face ID, support for the new Smart Keyboard Folio and new Apple Pencil, Advanced new cameras and sensors for the best AR experiences ever in any device, a high-speed USB-C connector, louder speakers, faster wireless and more, all packed into a thinner device that has all-day battery life and is 25 percent smaller in volume," Phillip added.
Apple has delved deep in gaming by making the tablets more capable in that aspect. Using NBA 2k as an example, the Cupertino company claims the new iPad Pro now rivals consoles.
While at the event, Adobe unveiled Photoshop on the tablet with augmented reality, though users will have to wait until next year to get Photoshop CC on the iPad.
Apple will be selling the 64GB 11-inch iPad for a starting price of $799, and theres also available the 1TB storage version. The 12.9-inch model sells at a starting price of $999. Ordering is open now, and the Apple tablets will be available on 7 November.
