Amazon Launches The Echo Spot, An Alarm Clock With Video Calling Capabilities

Amazon yesterday announced the "Echo Spot", an Alexa-powered smart device that has some of the functionality of the Amazon Echo Show and the other Echo products all into the smaller Echo Spot.

The Echo Spot which was announced by Amazon alongside the new Echo 2nd Gen. and Echo Plus would serve as an alternative to the much bigger Amazon Echo Show. The Echo Spot has a camera, built-in audio and a 2.5-inch screen for video calls, weather displays and many other functions. Infact Amazon said that anything the Show can do, the Echo Spot can actually do it too!

 Priced at $130, the Amazon Echo Spot also functions as an alarm clock. It also displays music lyrics, weather forecasts, to-do and shopping lists, browses and does so many other things. all these are done hands free with just a voice command. 

 The Echo Spot can also be used to show baby monitors, turn on your front door cameras, lock your door, turn on your light, garage doors and more.

One down side with the Echo Spot is the built-in speakers. Just as the Amazon Echo Dot, the Echo Spot speakers are some what less powerful due to the Echo Spot small size. However, the audio output on the Echo Spot should pose any issue as an external speaker can be plugged.

The device which already available for pre-orders in black or white variants, is expected to begin shipping on December 19th in the US.

Huawei Launches The Foldable Mate X, Cost Almost 4 Times The Iphone Xr

The one of the hottest tech topics that has been trending this year is phones with foldable display. We know companies such as Samsung and Huawei that have had their foldable phone in the works for some time now.

However, the isu terkini got strong this year and we have seen the likes of Energizer, TLC, Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo, LG, Apple and others who also have a foldable phone in the works.


Last week, Samsung launched its foldable phone called the Galaxy Fold and Huawei too has't wasted much time in launching its own foldable device called the Huawei Mate X, and we will be expecting more flexible phones launches as in the MWC 2019. For now, lets look at how the Huawei Mate X looks, and what it has to offer.

The Huawei Mate X folds outwards, opposite to Samsung's Galaxy Fold that folds inwards. The display of the device wraps around the outer sides of the phone when it is folded. When it is unfolded, the thickness of the device is 5.4 mm, while the thick bulge located at the right end of the device is 11 mm in thickness.

The thick bulge serves like a grip, providing more thickness so as to fit in the user's hands properly. The bulge also serve as the meeting point where the other end of the folding screen meets.

Now, apart from the opposite direction that the Mate X folds when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the two Mate X screens are active even when the user folds it.

Depending on the want of the user, theres the other half of the screen that folds backwards and meets with the bulge. This display shrinks to 6.38-inches diagonally while the other half of the screen that is at the front is 6.6-inch. The user can spin both sides around to use either side of the screens while its still folded.

When unfolded, the two sides of the screen becomes one... measuring 8-inch, 2480 x 2200 AMOLED display.


The Mate X  is powered by Kirin 980, the same chip that powers the Mate 20 Pro, offering up to 2.6 GHz of speed. There's a triple Leica camera at the back of the device.. erm, the bulge actually houses the cameras. Just as it is on the Mate 20 Pro, there's one telephoto lens, one wide-angle, and one ultra-wide.

Huawei made the Mate X in a way that the triple cameras at the back of the device will also serve for shooting selfie. To take a selfie with the Mate X, the user will have to fold the device, and the cameras which are situated in the bulge will now face the user and be perfect for selfie.

For the battery capacity, the Mate X is powered by two batteries that housed in the two halves of the foldable device. Together, the halves provides the device 4,500mAh of battery power. Coupled with Huawei's efficient power management technology, this battery should be able to keep the device running for an ample amount of time, despite its screen size.

Another feature on the device si the presence of Huawei's 55 W fast charge. And, yes, we can't round up this post without mentioning that the device is 5G capable. Huawei's boasted top speed allows you to download 1 GB  of data file in just three seconds.

The Huawei Mate X device will be sold for $2,600, which is $620 more expensive that Samsung's Galaxy Fold which cost $1,980. Camparing the price with Apple's iPhone XR which is sold for $749, th Mate X is almost 4 times the price.

The Mate X should be available for consumers towards the half of 2019.

Hp Releases A Classic Pc Made Out Of Leather

HP yesterday announced the Spectra Folio, a slim convertible PC that comes with an impressive leather design.

The Spectra Folio is a PC clad in genuine leather instead of the everyday plastic or metal design we see. This leather design gives it a unique and premium appearance.

This HP PC, according to how the user wants it, the PC can serve as a tablet, or it can be folded halfway to cover the keyboard so that the track alone are visible to the operator, or can also be used as a regular laptop.

So what are the specs of this premium PC?

The Spectre Folio will be the first device to use Intel's low power display technology which helps in reducing screen battery use in half. This PC comes with a monster battery. All thanks to Intel's low power display technology, the battery gives up to 19 hours of battery life on the Core i5 model, and over 17 hours on the Core i7. This is an "always Connected" PC.


One thing you should know is that the Spectra Folio has a 13.3 touchscreen display though the screen differs across all three models. There is a version with a 1 watt FHD display, the second display comes with the regular FHD screen, while the third comes with a 4K panel. The  display is covered in Corning Gorilla Glass and at the same time supports input via a stylus with tilt detection and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

The PC comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (NVMe M.2 SSD). There is an e-sim and nano-SIM tray slot, and as well as four Bang & Olufsen speakers to give users premium sound.

Other specs includes a 3.5mm audio jack, one USB 3.1 Type-C port and a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port and two Thunderbols 3 ports. Bluetooth 4.2, 802.11ac WiFi.

The Spectre Folio measures 32 x 23.36 x 1.52cm and weighs 1.45 kg. The Core i5 model of Spectre Folio will be sold at $1300 on HP.com, while the Core i7 will sell for $1500 at  Best Buy. The Spectre Folio model with 4K display will be available sometime around December later this year.

Samsung Galaxy A9s With 6 Cameras Leaked Few Days To Launch Date

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A7 (2018) smartphone, a device that came with a triple setup camera on its rear. Not long after the launch of the Galaxy A7 device, rumours had it that the South Korean might be preparing to launch another device, but this time, with a quad camera setup at the rear.

According to a German website called All About Samsung. A website known for leaking specs and details about up coming Samsung products, said the rumoured device will be unveiled as Samsung Galaxy A9s.

Details revealed by the German website shows that the device will be fueled by a Snapdragon 660 chipset coupled with 6 GB RAM. The device will come with an inbuilt storage of 128 GB, and of course, there will be a microSD card slot for additional storage.


The Galaxy A9s will come with a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen, an Infinity Display with Full HD+ resolution of 2200 x 1080 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

The focal point of this device is the quad camera setup. The quad camera setup includes a 24-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 5-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 10-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture  and 2x optical zoom.

Other specs includes a 3,720mAh battery, a USB-C charging port with 2.0 quick charge, and the device will arrive with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed.

This device is expected to be released by Samsung on 11 Oct, 2018 during their 4X Fun event. Lets just keep our fingers crossed and wait if it eventually gets released.

Samsung Is Working On A Foldable Laptop

Foldable this, foldable that. For years we've been hearing news of foldable devices in the works by different tech companies but we are yet to see any of them make a release. These foldable devices ranges from smartphones, tablets, wearables, PC,e.t.c.

Among those trying to release a foldable device is Samsung. The South Korean electronic giant has been working on a foldable smartphone which is expected to be ready next year. However, news emerging suggests the tech company has plans for other gadgets too.

According to Korean media, Samsung's PC division VP for marketing, Lee Min-Cheol, "Samsung is collaborating with display makers to develop laptops and foldable displays that will not just simply fold in and out but create new value value and experience, amid the changing market trends for laptops."


Lee Min-Cheol went on to add that Samsung was also working with other manufacturers in flexible AMOLED display for the bendable laptop.

There is little real form of innovation in PC these days, consumers are tired of most of the products which are the same and doesn't add much value. To make things exciting again, Samsung have to go beyond creating a flexible device and make something that consumers can find utility in.

"PCs play a centric role among IT products in increasing connectivity with other mobile devices, so we will continue developing innovative PCs with partners like Intel, Microsoft and KT,"Lee Said.

The electronic giant sales around 3.2 million PCs annually in Korea, the US, China and Brazil, which cover  total of 45 percent of the entire PC market.

Samsung's 512Gb Microsd Card Costs As Much As An Android Mid-Range Smartphone!

If you are among those people waiting for Samsung's 512GB microSD card then this post is for you because you may not have to wait much longer for it. But wait. Did i mention the price? well the price might be a draw back for you.

Spotted by AllAboutSamsung, the microSD card has been listed on Samsung's official website in Germany and will be sold for 289.90 euros. This is equivalent to the price of most Android mid-range device.


The microSD card belongs to the Evo+ series from the year 2017 which also have memory cards in the size of 64GB to 25GB. Samsung said the 512GB memory card has a read speed of up to 100MB / sec while the write speed is 90MB/ sec. Also, the microSD card is water resistant, temperature-resistant, X-ray and magnetically safe, and as well there is a limited warranty of 10 years for it.

Though the half terabyte memory card will be sold for 289.90 euros, Samsung has discounted the price for its other Evo+ series memory cards. The 256GB version is sold for 99 euros in Germany and $109.99 in the U.S which is $70 off the initial price.

The 128GB version too has received a $62 off discount and is sold for $37.99, while the 64GB and 32GB are sold for $21.99 and $13.99 respectively.
