Here's A Look At Samsungs Foldable F Leaked Concept Inspired Renders

The wait for the launch of Samsungs foldable phone (Galaxy X?) is almost over as the date to the launch draws near.

We have seen several renders in the pasts that suggests what the Samsung Galaxy X device might look like until recently when we got a glimpse of the device in a leaked promo video.

Well, renders masters at LetsGoDigital have created an interesting render of the Samsung foldable device from the leaked promo video.

The render shows a Samsung foldable gadget that has a block design, the device folds vertically as opposed to some renders that suggested the device will fold horizontal.

The battery also seems to be housed at the right half of the device underneath as the left half has a screen that can operated when the device folds into two.

What we know so far is that the device will come with a 7.3-inch infinity Flex display when its not folded, and a secondary 4.6-inch display on the outside when its folded.



Chinese tech giant Huawei also has a foldable phone in the works. While that of Samsungs has a 7.3-inch display, Huawei's will come with an 8-inch display when unfolded, and 5-inch when folded.

Two major things that a foldable device does that your regular smartphone or tab doesn't is the ability to run like three apps at the same time, and also the ability to easily convert it from your regular sized smartphone into a tablet.

While Samsung's foldable device will be sold for over $1600, the price for the Huawei foldable device is not yet known. The tech company plans to launch the foldable device in the first quarter of 2019 in South Korea for testing because the country will have 5G running before the end of Q1 2019.

Here's The 3D Renders Of Xiaomi Double Foldable Smartphone

Its no doubt that foldable phones will be among top tech trends in 2019. Companies like Samsung and Huawei all have a foldable 5G device that is set to be released soon. Chinese tech company Xiaomi also has a foldable phone in the works too.

There are several renders of Xiaomi's foldable device online, though the company's founder eventually gave us a hands-on demonstration of the device.


The company has described in a statement to LetsGoDigital details of the foldable phone such as the design, development background and other challenges that they overcame with the flexible display, folding mechanism and as well as the configuration.

 "Xiaomi is first in the world to present a double folding smartphone and has the same technical challenges posed in its three different form factors - double folded, and tablet form," the company said in the statement. "Prior to finding the best solution, Xiaomi has conducted extensive research into the development of a robust folding mechanism."

LetsGoDigital has also published some 3D renders of the foldable device based on previous leaks and the hand-on demonstration video from Xiaomi's chief.

According to the renders, the Xiaomi device has two foldable sections that can bend backward to wrap the phone behind. Now when the phone bend backwards, the user interface adjusts to the middle of the phone as the only the middle becomes usable. 

However, when the sections has been unfolded, the device user interface expands as the whole tablet display can be used to work on apps, watch videos and perform other multi-task actions.

 There's a USB-C port, a button at the centre of the top of the phone, an assumed headphone jack. However, there isn't any news on the cameras as the renders doesn't show it any where on the device, though the camera might be behind at the centre of the device.

For now, there isn't an official name for the prototype as Xiaomi is still considering to use either "Xiaomi Dual Flex" or "Xiaomi MIX Flex".

Tcl Is Working On A Foldable Smartphone That Bends Into A Smartwatch And 4 Others Foldable Phones

The foldable phone ekspresi dominan is still on. While we wait for mobile tech companies such as Samsung, Huawei, Energizer, Xiaomi and other smartphone manufacturers to reveal their foldable gadget at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), more tech companies are joining the band. TCL is the latest company to join the trend.

TCL, a Chinese company best known for budget TVs and phones through Blackberry and Alcatel brands, apart from its own brand.

According to CNET, patents images and renderings shows obtained shows the company to be working on five devices with  foldable displays. These includes two smartphones, two tablets, and a flexible phone that can bend into a smartwatch.


Two of the phones bend at the middle like a traditional flip phone; one bends inward while the other bends outward. The second set of two foldable phones bends vertically in the middle: one folds inside like a clam shell while the other folds outside.

 However, the last foldable device doesn't fold like the others, instead the device can be curved into a cuff around the owners wrist to serve as a wrist watch. This device takes a different dimension from most of the design tech companies are using to build their foldable gadgets.

A TCL executive told CNET last month that the company would release its first foldable device next year. However, the images are preliminary and TCL could could its plans.

Phone users are holding onto their old phones as the new ones has little to offer to encourage users to upgrade. However, device makers are banking big on foldable smartphones to people excited all over again.

Phone shipments and sales have declined worldwide. One major reason for this is because consumers are sticking to their old gadget and won't upgrade to those pricey new ones that has just little features and tweaks added to it.

With this, smartphone makers are banking hard on the new demam isu which is phones with foldable display to re-awaken sales.

Samsung as we know has had a foldable display gadget ready for sometime now, though the company kept it in door and worked on its perfection. The likes of Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, TLC, Motorola, LG, Oppo, Energizer and others are set to announce their foldable device this year. The latest company to join the demam isu is Apple.


Apple's patent published on the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) website recently titled "Flexible Display Devices", suggests that the Cupertino company has a foldable device in the make.

Some of the designs in the patent shows a foldable iPhone that is in development, however, folk at LetsGoDigital has used those sketches depicted in the patent to create some renders on how the foldable iPhone might look like.

From the patent documentation, the images suggest Apple might make an iPhone that folds inwards and as well as outwards. Another shows foldable devices with two or three displays, and as well as two or three hinges that lets the user fold the handset.

The renders of the Apple's foldable device are what LetsGoDigital can provide for now, given Apple's practice of keeping information, designs and specs of her product secret until launch day.

However, LetsGoDigital suspects that Apple will release a 5G smartphone first before a foldable iPhone or iPad.

These Are The Specs & Price Of Samsungs Galaxy Fold Device

Samsung yesterday launched its Galaxy S10 family of flagship devices, and as well gave us a look at what its first foldable phone will look like.

According to Samsung mobile press, the foldable device will open and close like a book as earlier shown by the tech giant before. There's screen on the outside that lets you to use the Galaxy Fold like a phone, and as well a larger screen on the inside that lets you to use the phone like a tablet.

The has a 4.6-inches Quad HD+ outer display 21:9 aspect ratio, while the inner display is a 7.3-inch QXGA+ screen.

To let users easily transit apps running on the outer screen to the inner one when they unfold the device, Google added a feature called App Continuity to aid in this aspect.


There's a 7nm, 64bit octa-core processor powering the Galaxy Fold which Samsung didn't reveal if it was its own Exynos line or Qualcomm's Snapdragon line. The device runs on a monster 12GB RAM, has 512GB of internal storage but doesn't have any microSD slot for those who want to  expand their memory.

Another thing on this device are the cameras. The Galaxy Fold has about six cameras on it: There's a selfie camera at the front when the device folds, three cameras at the back (ultra-wide, wide and telephoto), and two front facing cameras when the user unfolds the Galaxy device.

The Galaxy Fold is said to be one of the most expensive devices in the world, with the 4G LTE version starting at $1,980. For now, there's no word on the amount for the 5G version. However, the Galaxy Fold device should be available in retail stores by April 26.

Huawei Launches The Foldable Mate X, Cost Almost 4 Times The Iphone Xr

The one of the hottest tech topics that has been trending this year is phones with foldable display. We know companies such as Samsung and Huawei that have had their foldable phone in the works for some time now.

However, the isu terkini got strong this year and we have seen the likes of Energizer, TLC, Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo, LG, Apple and others who also have a foldable phone in the works.


Last week, Samsung launched its foldable phone called the Galaxy Fold and Huawei too has't wasted much time in launching its own foldable device called the Huawei Mate X, and we will be expecting more flexible phones launches as in the MWC 2019. For now, lets look at how the Huawei Mate X looks, and what it has to offer.

The Huawei Mate X folds outwards, opposite to Samsung's Galaxy Fold that folds inwards. The display of the device wraps around the outer sides of the phone when it is folded. When it is unfolded, the thickness of the device is 5.4 mm, while the thick bulge located at the right end of the device is 11 mm in thickness.

The thick bulge serves like a grip, providing more thickness so as to fit in the user's hands properly. The bulge also serve as the meeting point where the other end of the folding screen meets.

Now, apart from the opposite direction that the Mate X folds when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, the two Mate X screens are active even when the user folds it.

Depending on the want of the user, theres the other half of the screen that folds backwards and meets with the bulge. This display shrinks to 6.38-inches diagonally while the other half of the screen that is at the front is 6.6-inch. The user can spin both sides around to use either side of the screens while its still folded.

When unfolded, the two sides of the screen becomes one... measuring 8-inch, 2480 x 2200 AMOLED display.


The Mate X  is powered by Kirin 980, the same chip that powers the Mate 20 Pro, offering up to 2.6 GHz of speed. There's a triple Leica camera at the back of the device.. erm, the bulge actually houses the cameras. Just as it is on the Mate 20 Pro, there's one telephoto lens, one wide-angle, and one ultra-wide.

Huawei made the Mate X in a way that the triple cameras at the back of the device will also serve for shooting selfie. To take a selfie with the Mate X, the user will have to fold the device, and the cameras which are situated in the bulge will now face the user and be perfect for selfie.

For the battery capacity, the Mate X is powered by two batteries that housed in the two halves of the foldable device. Together, the halves provides the device 4,500mAh of battery power. Coupled with Huawei's efficient power management technology, this battery should be able to keep the device running for an ample amount of time, despite its screen size.

Another feature on the device si the presence of Huawei's 55 W fast charge. And, yes, we can't round up this post without mentioning that the device is 5G capable. Huawei's boasted top speed allows you to download 1 GB  of data file in just three seconds.

The Huawei Mate X device will be sold for $2,600, which is $620 more expensive that Samsung's Galaxy Fold which cost $1,980. Camparing the price with Apple's iPhone XR which is sold for $749, th Mate X is almost 4 times the price.

The Mate X should be available for consumers towards the half of 2019.

Lg Launches The V50 5G, A Dual Screen Flex Phone

We've seen the release of foldable phones from Samsung, Huawei and Nubia, and still hope for more releases at the Mobile World Congress 2019. LG too has also joined the list of companies that have released a foldable smartphone.

LG's latest flagship, the LG V50 ThinQ 5G (yeah, i know the name is pretty long) comes with an optional case that has a second screen on it. The two identical screens will offer users split screen functionality that a complete foldable smartphone has to offer.


The LG device main screen is a 6.4-inch OLED 3120x1440 display with QHD+ resolution. Now, the second display is in the "LG DualScreen" accessory of the LG V50 ThinQ 5G. On the inside of the case, instead of a soft screen cover, there's an OLED 6.2-inch 2160x1080 display that has a stiff hinge in the middle to keep the two screens side by side.

The second screen uses an unspecified short-range Wi-Fi to connect to the device. There's also a triple pogo pin connector that allows the second screen to draw power from the main device internal battery

Design wise, there isn't much difference between the LG V50 ThinQ 5G and the V40. There are two cameras in the notches on the main display. These includes a standard 8MP one and a 5MP one wide-angle sensor.

At the back of the device, there's a triple rear camera setup though LG's engineers this time fit in the camera sensors into the device body, thereby eliminating the camera bumps that are on the V40.


The triple camera setup includes: a 12MP standard F1.5 camera, 12MP telephoto one wth F2.4 and a 16MP wide-angle one with F1.9. One new feature that LG added is the ability of users to take portrait-mode videos with the front facing camera and the ones at the back!

The device is powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There's a 400mAh battery to power the LG device and a Quick Charge 3.0 to speed up charging time.

With a Snapdragon X50 5G modem that promises downloads of multiple gigabytes per second, LG added a new Vapor Chamber heat-dissipation to combat the heat that the 5G modem produces.

The LG V50 ThinQ 5G comes with Android 9.) Pie out of the box with LG's Android skin. Other specs includes a Boombox Speaker, IP68 water resistance, Al camera, Google Lens and 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, Buetooth 5.0 and yeah, there's a 3.5mm headphone jack on the device.

For now, the LG V50 ThinQ 5G will be available in Astro Black at launch.

Samsung Is Working On A Foldable Laptop

Foldable this, foldable that. For years we've been hearing news of foldable devices in the works by different tech companies but we are yet to see any of them make a release. These foldable devices ranges from smartphones, tablets, wearables, PC,e.t.c.

Among those trying to release a foldable device is Samsung. The South Korean electronic giant has been working on a foldable smartphone which is expected to be ready next year. However, news emerging suggests the tech company has plans for other gadgets too.

According to Korean media, Samsung's PC division VP for marketing, Lee Min-Cheol, "Samsung is collaborating with display makers to develop laptops and foldable displays that will not just simply fold in and out but create new value value and experience, amid the changing market trends for laptops."


Lee Min-Cheol went on to add that Samsung was also working with other manufacturers in flexible AMOLED display for the bendable laptop.

There is little real form of innovation in PC these days, consumers are tired of most of the products which are the same and doesn't add much value. To make things exciting again, Samsung have to go beyond creating a flexible device and make something that consumers can find utility in.

"PCs play a centric role among IT products in increasing connectivity with other mobile devices, so we will continue developing innovative PCs with partners like Intel, Microsoft and KT,"Lee Said.

The electronic giant sales around 3.2 million PCs annually in Korea, the US, China and Brazil, which cover  total of 45 percent of the entire PC market.

Huawei Completes Own Foldable 5G Device, Screen Larger Than Samsung's

Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei, as we all know has its foldable phone in the works. However, new report suggests the phone makers foldable device is "more complete than expected."

According to news reports from Korean media, Huawei has proposed a 5G foldable device to local mobile operators, and at the same time presenting the "finished product" to the carrier.

The report quoted an insider who confirmed that the Huawei foldable device wasn't a "prototype" or a proof of concept device.

"We have confirmed Huawei FolderBoop to support 5G network," the insider said. "We can not disclose specific designs, specifications, usage patterns, etc., but it was more complete than expected," the insider said.


Huawei's foldable device features a larger screen than that of Samsung. The Huawei device is 5 inches when folded and 8 inches when unfolded, while Samsung's bendable device is said to be 4.5 inches when folded and 7.3 when unfolded.

The foldable display panel is to be provided by BOE, the same guys who made the curved OLED panel of the Mate 20 Pro.

One reason why Huawei opted to launch its first 5G capable device in Korea is because the country will have a wide range of 5G network running up in the first half of 2019. By then, the country would have released the device after it have undergone rigorous testing on the 5G network.
