Facebook Working On A Talent Show For Users

Facebook seems to be working on a talent show feature where users would record themselves singing and then submit their videos for review.

First spotted by Twitter user Jane Manchun Wong, the researcher saw an interface in the app's code that allows users to choose a popular song and then record themselves while singing.

 The tweet read:

Facebook is working on Talent Show where users can pick a popular song and submit their singing audition for review.

Feels like a cross between Musically and Fifteen Million Merits from Black Mirror.

Though, there isn't much information about this or if it will be rolled out. However, if this feature is eventually made, talent singers will most likely compete against each other in some talent show of sort so as to get discovered on the platform.

Wong notes that the feature looks to be locked to Facebook Pages which suggests that Page administrators might be the only ones that might be able to initiate a talent show.

Some time this year in March, Facebook reached a deal with Warner Music Group which will let users to use licensed music in videos posted on the platform. The deal added Warner Music Group with Universal Music Group and Sony/ATV Music Publishing.

At that time, Facebook said that it would look at ways to integrate music onto the platform and this "Talent show" feature seems to be one of them. These music labels will earn royalties from fan- created videos featuring their work.

What ever it is, only time will tell if this feature eventually sees day light.
