Google Maps Starts Sharing Phone Battery Life When Users Share Their Location

Google is rolling out a feature in its Google Maps that enable users to share the level of their phone battery percentage with friends and family members.

Spotted by Androidpolice, this new feature released by Google comes in handy mostly for friends and family members who wants to keep tab on their loved ones to ensure that they are safe.

Displaying your battery percentage is a brilliant idea because the person tracking you will know when your battery is low on juice and won't be worried that you intentionally switched off your device. The same applies to employers and their employees because there won't be much cause for worry when their location drops off.

The new feature has been around for some time now for some regions, and should be available for everyone soon
