Video-sharing giant YouTube has introduced some new tools that is aimed at helping users of the video-sharing platform better understand what they want so as to be able to focus on what matters the most.
According to a YouTube post, the new tools are meant to "help people better understand their tech usage, focus on what matters most and disconnect when needed."
The Google owned video-sharing service explained that the aim of the "app is to provide a better understanding of time spent on YouTube," so users "can make informed decisions about how you want YouTube to best fit into your life."
"We're dedicated to making sure that you have the information you need to better understand how you use YouTube and develop your own sense of digital wellbeing," a post on YouTube's blog read.
The YouTube app will provide users with details on how long they've spent watching YouTube videos over the past 7 days, per day usage and the average amount of time spent on the app during the previous week. All the necessary details to help the user monitor how much time they've spend will be made available in the YouTube sajian account.
YouTube also made the option for users to set reminders to enable them take a break. This feature allow users to choose a certain amount of time they want to spend on YouTube. Once the limit has been passed, a reminder will pop up on the screen.
Another feature in the app is the ability to mute or reduce amount of notifications that you receive per day. Users can choose to receive only one notification per day, and even decide the time that they would like to receive it.
Still on the notification feature, users can even choose to mute all notifications without sound and vibration during specific times of the day.
