There's a saying that says, "iPhones don't come cheap". Yeah, purchasing an iPhone will cost you.... but the craze for it shouldn't make you trade your kidney for it!!
A young man in China has been bedridden for life 7 years after selling his kidney in order for him to buy an iPhone.
According Chinese media Oriental Daily, Xiao Wang, now 24, sold one of his kidney when he was 17-year-old to enable him purchase iPhone 4 which had become a status symbol in his school at that time.
iPhone at Wang's school was seen as a must have item among students. Infact, whichever student that owned that piece of Apple's gadget was considered more "atas" than other students.
The report says Wang sold his kidney for 22,000 Yuan ($3,200) which was more than enough for him to purchase the iPhone 4.
The operation was performed by an underground hospital who told Wang that after a week of recovery, he would be able to live a normal life with the single kidney.
"Unfortunately, the operating environment wasn't sanitized properly, which led to an infection on his wound," the report said.
To make it worst, his parents never knew of his operation and only became aware when the teen had become terribly ill from the infection. By the time Wang sought for proper treatment at a standard hospital, the situation of his kidney had already gotten worse.
Xiao's family soon become plunged in financial crises due to the expenses of Xiao's dialysis treatment. The expenses here isn't the problem... the bad news is that no matter the money spend on Xiao, his health will never improve. He will remain that way for the rest of his days.
The report says both the arbitrator and the illegal hospital who performed the surgery have been brought to book, and Xiao's family have been well compensated in monetary form.
An Indian Teenager has allegedly committed suicide after he had an argument with his family members on the new kind of phone to buy so as to enable him play battle royale game PUBG Mobile.
According to Gadget.NDTV, the 18-year-old who is a resident of Kurla's Nehru area of Mumbai, hanged himself when his family got him the opposite of what he asked of.
The teenager asked for a high-end smartphone so as to enable him play the online battle royale game which is the animo among teenagers in India today.

However, the boy's family refused to bow to his demands. The boy demanded for a phone which cost around Rs. 37,000 (roughly $515.43) but the family argued that he wouldn't be given any phone worth more than Rs. 20,000 (roughly $278.61)
Out of anger and frustration, the boy took his own life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in the kitchen where his lived.
So far, a case of accidental death has been registered for the Indian boy by the police. A full investigation have been launched to know the cause of the death.

Following US chip maker Qualcomm's lawsuit against Apple over patent infringements and royalties, a German court on Friday placed a ban on the sales of affected iPhones, ordering the tech giant to pull out all infringing iPhones from its German store and third party resellers out of the country.
If you recall, a German court in December 20, 2018 passed a ruling in favour of Qualcomm. However, the ruling couldn't be effected because Apple could appeal to a higher court which could overturn the injunction.

For the injunction to be enforced, the court told the US chip maker to post a security bond which which will be served as compensation to Apple in case a higher court later ruled in favour of Apple.
"Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that it has posted security bonds totaling €1.34 billion (Euros)," Qualcomm said in a placed a ban on the sales of the affected iPhone models in the country.
Apple is having a real hard time. From disappointing low sales to falling stocks, Apple isn't finding it funny.
However, there might be hope for Apple if the US Federal Trade Commission, which has dragged Qualcomm to court over abuse of licensing mobile chip patents, eventually wins the case.
