Samsung Galaxy A8s Launched With Infinity-O Display, Triple Camera Setup


Samsung Mobile today launched the Galaxy A8s in China, sporting the much awaited Infinity-O Display from the electronic maker.


The Samsung Galaxy A8s (along with Honor View 20) is the first smartphone to be unveiled with a punch-hole style housing the camera. This device from Samsung is the first from the smartphone maker that will sport a truly bezel-less display screen.


As i mentioned above, Honor also announced the Honor View20 today in a bid to challenge Samsung from taking the credit of being the first to launch a device with that display. While Samsung fully launched the Galaxy A8s, Honor only announced the Honor View20 which is to be fully launched in Paris in January 22, 2019.

The Samsung Galaxy A8s comes with a 6.4-inch (1080x2340 pixels) Full HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Within the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 616 GPU powering the device. There's a 6GB and 8GB RAM option for users, as both variants comes with 128GB of internal storage. Storage can be expanded via microSD up to 512GB.
At the rear of the device is a triple camera setup; there's a 24-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 5-megeapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture to aid in more depth in photos, and there's a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor with f/2.4 that can offer 2X optical zoom.

The hole in the device display houses a 24-megapixel front facing selfie camera.

Other specs includes a 3,400mAh battery with fast charging support, NFC support, a USB type-C port, finger print scanner, and there's no headphone jack on the device.

Colour available for the device Black (Green), Blue, and Silver colour options in China, and pre-order for the device will soon be available, and thats when pricing will also be made available.
