Google's video sharing website YouTube went down last light, leaving users worldwide unable to access the streaming service.
The outage which began around 9:20 ET affected YouTube users using the web, the mobile app and those on YouTube TV and YouTube Music. The service disruption lasted for more than an hour.
Users of the streaming service were met with this error message when they tried accessing YouTube:
"Sorry, something went wrong,
"A team of highly trained monkeys has been dispatched to deal with this situation.
"If you see them, send them this information as a text (screenshots frighten them)"
YouTube acknowledged the service disruption which read: "We're working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed," Team YouTube said on Twitter. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated."
YouTube later resolved the issue and dropped an update to their tweet:We're back! Thanks for all of your patience. If you continue to experience issues, please let us know. https://t.co/NVU5GP7Sy6— Team YouTube (@TeamYouTube) October 17, 2018
